While the AI builds a complete video from your prompt, the editor gives you full manual control over every detail -- timing, text, effects, music, and more.

Opening the Editor

After your video finishes generating in Agentic Mode, switch to the Video Preview tab on the right panel. Below the video player, click the Open in editor button. This opens the full editor in a new view with your video loaded and ready to edit.

Editor Layout

The editor is divided into five main areas: the top bar, left sidebar, canvas, bottom playback controls, and the collapsible timeline.

Top Bar

The top bar spans the full width of the editor and contains navigation, project info, and actions.

From left to right:

  • Ngram logo -- Click to return to the home page.

  • Breadcrumb -- Shows your project folder. Click the folder name to go back to your projects list.

  • Project title -- Displays the current project name (e.g., "TaskFlow Product Demo"). Click the title to rename your project inline.

  • Undo -- Reverts your last action. Keyboard shortcut: Cmd+Z (Mac) or Ctrl+Z (Windows).

  • Redo -- Re-applies an undone action. Keyboard shortcut: Cmd+Shift+Z (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+Z (Windows).

  • Save icon -- Saves the current state of your project.

• Share icon -- Opens sharing options for your project.

  • Link icon -- Copies a shareable link to your clipboard.

  • Notification bell -- Shows any pending notifications.

  • Download button -- The black button on the far right. Click to render and download your finished video.

Left Sidebar

The left sidebar is a vertical icon menu along the left edge of the editor. Each icon opens a corresponding tool panel that slides out to the right of the sidebar.

The tools available are:

Click any icon to open that panel. Click it again (or click elsewhere on the canvas) to close the panel.

At the bottom of the left sidebar, you will see your credits counter showing remaining credits and your user avatar.

Canvas

The canvas is the large central area that displays the current frame of your video. This is where you visually compose your scenes.

Above the canvas, a floating Ordering toolbar provides quick actions:

  • Delete Page -- Remove the currently selected scene.

  • Split Page -- Split the current scene into two at the playhead position.

  • Page Background Color -- Change the background color of the current scene.

  • Layer Ordering -- Move selected elements forward or backward in the layer stack (bring to front, send to back).

You can click on any element in the canvas to select it, then drag to reposition, resize using corner handles, or delete with the Delete key.

Bottom Playback Controls

At the bottom center of the editor, you will find the playback controls:

  • Skip back -- Jump back one second.

  • Play / Pause -- Start or stop playback.

  • Skip forward -- Jump forward one second.

  • Time display -- Shows the current playhead position and total video duration (e.g., 00:06 / 00:36).

  • Timeline toggle -- A button on the right side labeled "Timeline" that expands or collapses the timeline panel.

Timeline

The timeline panel sits below the canvas and is collapsible. Click the Timeline button at the bottom right to show or hide it.

Editor with timeline expanded

When expanded, the timeline shows:

  • Scene segments -- A row of colored blocks representing each scene with thumbnail images and duration labels. An Outro scene typically appears at the end.

  • Voiceover track -- A green dashed line showing the narration audio waveform.

  • Background Music track -- A teal/green line showing the music audio waveform.

A blue playhead line moves across the timeline during playback, indicating the current position. You can click or drag anywhere on the timeline to scrub to that point.

For a detailed guide on using the timeline, see Working with the Timeline.

Tips for Getting Started

  • Start by playing your video to review what the AI generated before making any changes.

  • Use Cmd+Z liberally -- every action can be undone, so feel free to experiment.

  • Open the timeline to get a bird's-eye view of your video structure and scene durations.

  • Save frequently using the save icon in the top bar.
