Step 1: Open the Home Page
Navigate to ngram.com/app. You'll see the main prompt box with the greeting "What are we creating today?"

Step 2: Write Your Prompt (or Use an Example)
You have two options:
Option A: Write Your Own Prompt
Type a description of your video idea directly into the prompt box. Be specific about:
What the video is about
Who the target audience is
What tone or style you want
Example: "Create a 30-second product demo video for our project management tool. Highlight task boards, team collaboration, and reporting. Target audience: startup founders."
Option B: Use an Example Prompt
Below the prompt box, you'll see Try Example Prompts with options like Teaser, URL to Video, PDF to Video, Product Demo, Social Clip, Tutorial, and Announcement.
Click any button to populate the prompt box with a template. The template includes placeholders in brackets like [your-product-name] and [your-audience] that you need to fill in with your own details.

Step 3: Configure Your Settings
Before sending, review the settings bar below the prompt. Click any setting to change it:
You can also click the Tools button (sliders icon) to enable Deep Research (the AI will research your product on the web) and choose an Animation Mode.
Tip: The defaults work well for most videos. You can always adjust these later.
For details on each setting, see the Prompt Settings & Configuration articles.
Step 4: Send Your Prompt
Click the black send button (arrow icon) on the right side of the prompt box. This takes you to the Agentic Mode conversation page.

The page has two panels:
Left: Your chat conversation with the AI
Right: Script and Storyboard panel with three tabs (Script, Storyboard, Video Preview)
Step 5: Wait for the Script
The AI begins working immediately. You'll see progress indicators:
"Researching your product..." - The AI searches the web to learn about your topic
"Writing your script..." - The AI drafts a script based on its research and your prompt

This typically takes 1-2 minutes. The progress bar on the right panel shows the percentage complete.
Important: Be patient during this step. The AI is doing real research and writing. Don't navigate away.
Step 6: Review Your Script
Once the script is ready, you'll see:
The full script text in the right panel with an Edit button
A summary from the AI in the chat
Action buttons with your options

You have several choices:
"Perfect! Create the storyboard" - Proceed if you're happy with the script
"Make it more technical and detailed" - Ask for a rewrite
"Focus more on collaboration features" - Adjust the focus
"Adjust the tone or pacing" - Change the feel
You can also:
Click Edit on the script panel to modify text directly
Type your own feedback in the chat input at the bottom
Step 7: Create the Storyboard
Click "Perfect! Create the storyboard" (or your preferred option). The AI will:
Plan the scenes (Hook, Feature, Solution, Demo, CTA, etc.)
Generate start and end keyframe images for each scene

Each scene card shows:
Scene number and type (e.g., "Scene 1 of 5 - Hook (~5s)")
Script text for that scene
Generated images with start/end keyframes (use arrows to navigate between them)
You can:
Review each scene's images
Click the edit icon on any scene to modify its text
Use the "Add scene" button to add more scenes
Step 8: Generate Video
Once you're happy with the storyboard, you'll see options like:
"Perfect! Generate voiceover & animate" - Proceed to video creation
"Regenerate a specific scene" - Redo one scene's images
"Adjust visual style or mood" - Change the look
"Change the storyboard flow" - Rearrange scenes
Click "Perfect! Generate voiceover & animate" to start video creation.
Step 9: Wait for Video Generation
This is the longest step. The AI will:
Generate voiceover narration from the script
Generate background music to match the mood
Animate each scene (turning keyframe images into video clips)

The Video Preview tab shows a checklist with checkmarks appearing as each item completes. All scenes are animated in parallel.
This typically takes 2-5 minutes depending on the number of scenes.
Note: If you see "Animation interrupted - scenes still processing in background," don't worry. The system automatically resumes. Just wait.

Step 10: Preview Your Video
Once everything is complete, all three tabs will show "Ready":

The embedded video player lets you:
Play/Pause the video
Mute/unmute audio
Enter fullscreen for a larger view
See the total duration (e.g., 0:36)
Step 11: Open in Editor or Download
Below the video preview, you'll find two buttons:
Download - Export the video directly
Open in editor - Open the full video editor for fine-tuning

The editor gives you full control:
Adjust scene timing on the timeline
Add text, effects, music, and elements
Modify voiceover and background music
Export in your preferred quality
Credits Used
Creating a video consumes credits. During the process, you'll see a "Credits used this session" counter at the top of the chat. A typical 30-second, 5-scene video uses approximately 100-200 credits depending on the models and number of scenes.
See Understanding Credits for details on credit costs.
