Working with the Timeline
The timeline gives you precise control over the timing and structure of your video.

It shows every scene, audio track, and transition in a visual layout you can scrub through, resize, and rearrange.
Opening the Timeline
Click the Timeline button at the bottom right of the editor to expand the timeline panel. Click it again to collapse it and reclaim screen space for the canvas.
When expanded, the timeline appears below the canvas.

Timeline Layout
The timeline is organized into three horizontal rows.
Scene Segments (Top Row)
The top row displays your video's scenes as a series of colored blocks arranged left to right. Each block represents one scene and shows:
A thumbnail image previewing that scene's content.
A duration label (e.g., 5s, 9s, 9s, 6s, 4s) indicating how long the scene plays.
A distinct color to help you visually distinguish scenes from one another.
At the end of the scene list, you will typically see an Outro scene (around 3s) that serves as your video's closing card.
Voiceover Track
Below the scene segments, the Voiceover track displays the narration audio as a green dashed line. This represents the AI-generated voiceover that reads your script. The waveform stretches across the duration of the narrated portion of your video.
Background Music Track
Below the voiceover, the Background Music track shows the music audio as a teal/green line. This is the AI-generated (or manually selected) background music that plays throughout your video.
The Playhead
The playhead is a blue vertical line that indicates your current position in the video. As the video plays, the playhead moves from left to right across the timeline.
You can interact with the playhead in several ways:
Click anywhere on the timeline to jump the playhead to that position.
Drag the playhead left or right to scrub through the video frame by frame.
Watch the time display (e.g.,
00:06 / 00:36) in the bottom playback controls to see the exact current time and total duration.
The canvas always shows the frame at the playhead's current position.
Playback Controls
The playback controls sit at the bottom center of the editor, just above the timeline:
The time display to the right of the controls shows the current position and total duration in MM:SS / MM:SS format.
Adjusting Scene Duration
Each scene block has drag handles on its left and right edges. To change how long a scene plays:
Hover over the left or right edge of a scene block. Your cursor will change to a resize indicator.
Click and drag the edge left or right to shorten or extend the scene's duration.
Release the mouse button. The timeline and time display will update to reflect the new total duration.
Shortening a scene trims content from that edge. Extending a scene stretches it (or reveals trimmed content if you previously shortened it).
Tip: Use scene resizing to tighten pacing. If a scene feels like it lingers too long, drag its right edge to the left to trim a second or two.
Timeline Zoom
At the top right of the timeline panel, a slider control lets you zoom in and out:
Zoom in (slide right) to see more detail and finer time increments. This is useful when you need to make precise edits at specific frames.
Zoom out (slide left) to see your entire video in one view. This is useful for reviewing the overall structure and pacing.
Adjust the zoom level based on what you're working on -- zoomed out for big-picture review, zoomed in for precise adjustments.
Timeline Settings
Click the gear icon in the timeline area to access additional timeline settings and configuration options. This lets you adjust how the timeline displays and behaves.
Adding New Scenes
At the end of the scene list, click the + button to add a new blank scene to your video. The new scene appears at the end of the timeline (before the Outro) and can be filled with content using the left sidebar tools (Text, Elements, Uploads, Imagine, and so on).
