I Ran Out of Credits

If you've hit your credit limit, don't worry -- there are several ways to get more credits and continue creating videos.

How to Check Your Remaining Credits

Hover over the lightning bolt icon at the bottom of the left sidebar. A popup shows:

Credits hover popup
  • Available: Credits you can still use

  • Used: Credits consumed this billing period

  • Usage percentage: How much of your allocation is spent

If Available shows 0 (or a very low number), you've used your credit allocation for this period.

The Low Credits Warning

When your credits run low, a yellow banner appears at the top of the page:

"You're running low on credits. Upgrade to a paid plan for more credits and uninterrupted access to all features."

You can dismiss this banner, but the credit limitation remains until you take action.

Your Options

1. Upgrade Your Plan

The most straightforward way to get more credits is upgrading to a plan with a higher allocation.

  1. Click ME (bottom of left sidebar)

  2. Select Account & Settings

  3. Go to the Billing & Pricing tab

Billing and pricing page

Compare the plans and choose one that fits your usage:

Plan

Monthly Price (annual)

Credits

Free

$0

300

Basic

$17.4/mo

More credits

Premium

$35.4/mo

Even more credits

Pro

$179.4/mo

Maximum credits

The Premium plan is the most popular choice and is marked as the top pick.

2. Wait for Your Credit Reset

If you're on a paid plan, your credits reset at the start of each billing cycle (monthly or annual). Check your billing date in Settings > Billing & Pricing to see when your next reset is.

Note: Unused subscription credits do not roll over. They reset to your plan's full allocation each cycle.

3. Refer Friends

Earn free credits by referring others to ngram AI Studio:

  • +100 credits when a friend signs up

  • +1,000 credits when a friend upgrades to a paid plan

Visit the Referrals page (Gift icon in the left sidebar) to get your referral link.

4. Purchase Credit Packs

Credit packs give you extra credits on top of your subscription allocation. Unlike subscription credits, purchased credits never expire as long as your account remains active.

Check the Billing & Pricing page for available credit pack options.

How to Reduce Credit Usage

If you want to make your credits last longer:

  • Use shorter video durations: 30-second videos use fewer credits than 60-second ones

  • Minimize scene regeneration: Review your script carefully before generating the storyboard to avoid re-generating images

  • Disable Deep Research when you already know what you want to say -- this saves the research credit cost

  • Check credit costs before acting: The "Credits used this session" counter at the top of the chat shows your running total

What Happens at Zero Credits

When you have zero credits:

  • You cannot start new AI-powered actions (script writing, image generation, video animation)

  • Existing completed videos remain accessible in your Projects

  • You can still open the editor and make manual edits to existing projects

  • You can still download previously rendered videos
